Live Client - Foot Health Professionals website analysis

Focusing on more local businesses for foot health, unfortunately it appears to be that the majority of sites appear a little dated. Apart from one. Foot Health Professionals.

The first thing you notice on loading the site is the mid-screen Flash banner. It takes a little while to load, but when it does, it adds nicely to the site.

In a chain of fade on and off block effects, random facts relating to foot health are introduced. These make what is other a fact heavy site seem a little more friendly and interesting. The images used too are a little cliche: happy families smiling etc, yet these are preferable to mangled feet.

--

The content on the site separates types of foot problems, varuccas, corns etc, making them more manageable, yet the amount of text covering some of the topics is quite heavy for a typical web reader.

For a customer in need of help, this wealth of information may prove useful, yet I feel it could do with halving. Footworks by Sue will be offering a service rather than free advice, so it wouldn't be wise to give away home treatment solutions in their entirety!

--

The telephone number to get in touch is located on the top right of each page's header. This is good from a stand point of informing of important information, yet it does stick out a little design wise. Perhaps if it was accompanied by further information, such as an email address then it wouldn't seem as slapped on. However, too much information could then appear jumbled.

--

If I was to offer any suggestions it would be to try and vary the content per page. Visually it all appears the same grey text and so offers no real pull to read. This will likely have arised from a template being used and the information pasted in. The images on the page you instantly look at, but at this remains fixed to just the Flash banner, once you've seen the cycle, it can seem a little flat. I suppose this is a case of design vs information, and which you value more.
